Something we don't usually put in our fishing reports is that in between the epic fish catching and the FISHonaDISH is epic fish cleaning. After a trip to Big Sur, I am sometimes cleaning fish well into the evening. My wife prefers that that I clean the fish outdoors due to the odor and mess. I had been using my ice chest as a fish cleaning table but that left a lot to be desired.  :smt011 After some research, I decided to purchase the fish cleaning table from Anchors Away (http://anchorsawayfl.com/products.html) because it came in the size I wanted, 18 x 36", the construction was really good, the price was competitive and it was made in the U.S. To complete the project I built a small redwood deck to mount the table on and added a knife holder, knife sharpener, water hose holder and cup holder to the table. Total project cost was about $420. Can't say enough about the quality of the Anchors Away table and excellent service also.

Really really nice Scott!  I used to do the icechest thing and it really sucked...it used to KILL my back.

I love my outdoor sink arrangement.  The only thing you may want to add is a bright overhead light for those end of a long day cleaning sessions. I mounted a $10 unit from Home Cheapo and its much nicer than a head lamp!

LOVE the Corona holder!!!

Very sweet unit Scott... If I had room for one, I'd buy it tomorrow.

I use my boogieboard as a fillet board on the tailgate of my truck... not that bad but this setup would be the bomb.

Nice set up there. I may be just inspired enough to make a ghetto version myself. Wheels are turning!
Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

That is sweet!
The life support bottle holder is a great touch.

I have a redwood table that I sank a scrounged ss sink into. Put the old kitchen faucet on it when I upgraded in our kitchen. I still need to plumb it, for now I'm using a hose.

I like the idea of a lamp over the table. Gotta get one for mine.

Sweeeeeeet!  I only wish I had room for a man-sink such as that!

Hahahaha...good point!  Funny story - last week I flew to the woods of Southeast Ohio for a 48 hour paintball scenario game.  The field had bunk houses made from a converted construction trailer.  Anyhow, the whole place was powered by generator (like I said, Ohio), and since we got slammed by Hurricane Ike-powered rain for two days  :smt013 everything and everyone was soaked.  Every time we tried opening the door to the bunk house we'd get a shock from the metal handle...apparently they hadn't had time to properly ground the building.  Made getting into the bunk house quite interesting.  :smt005

How sturdy is the table on the column? Any wobbling? Is it attached to the house?

Howard

The table is rock solid and is mounted to the deck with 6 lag screws. The deck has a center joist 16" O.C. which adds to the rigidity. I looked into making my own but the cost in materials was over $250 and it wouldn't have looked as clean. The stainless steel sink that a lot of guys use is the cheapest solution but it didn't fit in the area I wanted and was too ghetto looking for my wife.

Thanks, Scott. The backyard option looks very attractive, much better than cleaning fish on the driveway, fending off neighbors (who don't normally talk to me) who ask, "Oh! Did you go fishing today?," translated as "Can I have a fish or two AFTER you've cleaned them?"

Very nice work Scott. :smt007  :smt007  :smt007

I can't tell from the picture, but does the window next to the sink open?  You can fillet and then toss 'em to her so she can get her cook on. :smt044
