The morning did not quite start the way i wanted it.  My 3:30 am alarm was set at 3:30 pm.  Jed arrived at my house on time without any of my gear loaded up yet.  After loading I looked at the back of my pick-up and sensed something was missing but I could not figure it out.  We headed out for gas and met up with Rolly.  Rolly and I said we hope we did not forget anything.  As we headed for HI-37 that is when I realized what was missing....FISHING POLES.. :smt013..can't fish without them. :smt010  We went back to pick them up and lost some time...At the launch I realized I also forgot my squid but Jed had a box full but he left it at the parking lot and he was not about to climb up the hill again. :smt009  Rolly was generous enough to give up some of his octopus. :smt003
But The Good News :smt001
Oil glassy sea with perfect drift.  Variety of RF's to be had and good company...malibu two, Dale, Jedmo, Rolly

Whales breaching nearby :smt003
dolphins swimming as close as 15 ft :smt006

Thanks for the report - I'm trying to place faces to names in your photos.  (and I gotta know who's got the huge net!   :smt003)

Looks like Good Times NCKA style at the Fort today!   :smt045

...and I assume there's more!  ("Bling Ling")...   :smt002

Thanks for the invite hightide. I had such a good time. I wish I didn't have to leave so early. I wanted to hang out more with you guys.
Hey Abking, that would be me (Jedmo) with the big net. I don't trust myself with
the gaff just yet. Boy, camera does really add 15lbs in the picture. It's time to
lose some weight.
Congrats hightide on the ling and thanks again.

Best part of the day for me were the whales and the dolphins,

As well as actually remembering everyones name (well almost) met Allan, Jed, Andrew and now know the one I couldn't remember was Roly.

I haven't been to Ft Ross for about 20 yrs so I spent allot of time giving myself a tour, first to the south rocks, then the north reef, then spent allot of time bouncing fishtraps on the bottom in the kelp trying to intice a cab (no luck).  So for me it was gopher city along with an assortment of small rockfish and 2 underlings.  Nothing picture worthy. Just finished a whole BBQ'd gopher for dinner,

beautiful day, good people,

dale
