what time is the grand launch at bucks?  couple hours before the high and after?  I finally have some time off to come join you guys and I'm really looking forward to it.  :smt041  Western bait near San Rafael High school on the way out to china camp for you guys coming from the south is loaded up with ghost shimp and grass shrimp.

Q- will 10lb mushroom w/100' 1/4" line be enough wieght? should I bring salmon balls?

thanks guys  :fish4

Anyone pick up a snare from the last outing? Hope it didn't go over and I didn't notice, can't seem to find mine. Thanks

10 lb shroom should be fine.  The launch time is around 10:15 to 10:45am

People should start ariving around 9:30 am.

I think we will have  atleast 15 guys, maybe more.

Rule of thumb is that you want 3x the amount of anchor line as the water is deep.  Since it'll max out around 11 or 12 ft, you only need about 36ft of rope.  I only have a 50 and a 100, so I'm using the 50.  Any more and you'll be blowing sideways too much and have trouble keeping tight to your bait.  A 10lb mushroom will stop you dead.  Anything more than that and you'll have trouble pulling it back out of the muck.  Give it a few shakes before bringing it up to clean it off...

I spoke to Joel.  He and I might meet earlier at Buck's around 9:00am to get a headstart.  With as many guys as is expected we might overwhelm the place if we try to unload and launch all at once.  Anyways, you should be able to reach us OTW on channel 69.

Yeah guys... how'd it go.... how'd it go?:smt102

Joel... when you called me from your cell I was in the middle of buying a car (a mom-mobile).  All I got was your voice mail when I called back.

Let's get on with it already!!!   :kick

Someone MUST have caught a legal sturgeon with that many lines in the water.

Well I will be brief and write up a longer post in the morning.

We launced in victory at sea type conditions. It seemed like a 15 knot head wind. I was way out of shape and I was lagging behind big time. I took more than a few waves over the bow.

Elric landed a nice striper, I landed about a 36" sturgy (my biggest kayak fish!) I heard of a few stary flounders being landed as well. I had to leave early to get back home.

Thanks Bill... now Stuart can get some sleep... so can I.

Congrats on your sturgeon...  about another 12 inches and they start to put up a pretty good fight.
