Anyone been to Lake Hennessey? Have seen conflicting reports as to whether kayaks are permitted.

According to this site, it's a no-go.  That said, this is not the official site so I would look further into it.  Sounds like a nice little lake though, it's too bad kayaks aren't allowed.

I saw that link too. It's odd that a rubber rafts are okay but not kayaks.

Quote

I called the rec agency in charge today (707 257-9529) and she said kayaks are allowed BUT NO BODY CONTACT WITH THE WATER.
Its kinda like San Pablo Reservoir. I had a bad experience at San Pablo loading my Zodiac on my trailer. I was in the water just below my waist at the boat  ramp and a ranger came over and told me to get out. I use to go there a lot but that experience just turned me off.

Going to skip Hennessey go to Lake Berryessa Saturday or Sunday

yeah kayaks are allowed but as previously stated "ABSOLUTELY NO BODY CONTACT WITH WATER" due to the fact that they use this water in the surrounding cities.  VEry nice place to fish and yak, just a lot of regulations.
"are you freaking kidding me?"
