I heard the lake will be limited to a 5 mph speed limit, so GOODBYE powerboats, wakeboarders, and jetskis.  Hopefully this is not just a rumor.

My questions are:

How has the bass fishing been there lately?  Hot baits?
What is the best place to launch a yak for good fishing (bass)?
Anyone willing to hook-up and check this opportunity out in the upcoming month?

(I wouldn't mind chasing a trout or other salmonoid-type species, but I'm just not geared for it.)

I would be willing to check it out on a weekend.  I've never been on that lake, but it must be fishing differently that alot of earlier reports.  I heard it is becoming more of a puddle.  If you want to venture away from the delta for some lake bass, I hear that Amador has some willing victims.  Always wanted to try for bass there.....

I live about 10 miles from the launch. I paddle Folsom but haven't fished it other than goofing around with my kids. One of my non-yak fishing friends is a dedicated bass fisherman. I could get him to come or pick his brain before we go. Let me know if you want to go.

Folsom is a big lake. Even when it is low there is plenty of water acreage. The speed limit is due to shallow water hazards. The American River pours into Folsom Lake.

Me and some friends are going to fish the afternoon-evening bite.  Launching out Browns Ravine.  So come on out if you want.

I fished there before but only thewinter & spring time for trouts & salmon. Never fished there for summer bass.
It's a really big lake & very hard to find bass spots w/ yak...
We probably just gonna goof off most of the time.
If you can see you at there!

Just in case anyone wanted to see the report from this week..also Jim are you fishing sunday evening (tonight),because I might try and make it out.

FOLSOM LAKE - Fish and anglers adjusted to lower lake levels and nice fish were caught last week. The trick was to fish edges dropping off into deeperwater. The main body has been producing better than coves up the river arms. Plastic worms and jigs in natural, bait-imitating patterns were still the most consistent lures. Try drop-shotted and Carolina-rigged baits in Aaron's Magic, Prizm Shad and Morning Dawn. The lake went to a 5 mph speed limit Tuesday.

Any new reports from Folsom?
yes, the water is very low, but it's good for the yakers!
Lots of small fish (5-10 inch, mix of SMB & LMB) on the shore line around 10-15 ft.
It has been super windy, but if it's calm down might be good...
