I'm gonna try the harbor again tomorrow (Saturday) early start around 6:30. Does anyone know how the bait has been? Are we still able to get some in the harbor, or do I need to stop at Boccie's?

I'll go to the mile buoy and work towards the lighthouse for the usual assortment of fish.

Anyway

I'll be out there and on Ch 69

company welcome, the wind is down and it should be pretty smooth

Stoggie,

Todd at bayside says that an early bite for Hali's has been happening between NB and the lighthouse.

Also lots of WSB chasing baits outside of the cement ship!!

Go get em!!!

Andy

Good to hear from you bud.
I haven't been out for about 3 weeks, so I'm going for sure.

I see that you we're planning a trip to MBK and then the beer festival.
I would normally join you, but like to stay away from the crowds.

Leaving my boat unattended while drinking beer at the festival after fishing sounds like trouble to me. Especially if you park near the beer festival. Might get broken into or your yak stolen.
I think I'll try for the butts I hear about, but never caught, or the sea bass that's biting around the concrete ship.

Either way a good day on the water is the goal.

Let's go again soon.

I was out today. I launched from Capitola. There were the usual piles of anchovies there. There was a good swell which seems to have shut the flatties down. I am told by my diver friend that the water clarity and such is much better on the west side above the lighthouse. I did find some sardines near soquel pt. this am. There is most likely something to get on a sabiki on the west side. If nothing else jack smelt. Only one light bight today. Fished from 7am-noon. Good luck  :smt004
