I have the wetsuit material boots w/rubber soles that I use on my yak. I want to use those for diving but they are too roomy inside. I went to the store today and tried them with a pair of the neoprene socks that flyfishermen wear under their wader boots. This snugged up the fit and gave me more insulation. Are these the right type of socks or do the socks need to feel like the wetsuit material? I bought my fins today and all I have left to get is a weight belt. I can't wait to get back up to Albion/Elk on the 12-14th to fish again and dive for abs for the first time.

I just checked the regs. What a dissapointment. I may have to run up there for labor day. I'm still going diving on the 12-14th. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry for the thread jacK but what closure are you talking about? The November groundfish closure? or did I miss one?

I am normally a very warm person.  I'm the one wearing a tank top and shorts in February.  That being said...... I just get a pair of rag wool socks from REI.  Then I shrink them in hot wash/dry when I wash the towels.  That will make them tight to your feet and tighten up the weave.  I wear them under my yak booties and haven't had any problems with being cold.  They're also nice when you have to put the booties on wet after being left out overnight.
