Got on the water right at sunrise with a slight breeze and small chop.  Started throwing topwater with no success for the first hour and a half.  Finally fooled one with the frog in open water.  That was it for any top action as the wind kicked up and started producing whitecaps.  I found some sheltered tules and flipped a jig with a black/blue sweet beaver trailer for another 5 fish up to 3.5 - 4 lbs.  I missed a nice one that grabbed my jig and ran for deeper water.  By the time I got the slack in and set, he took about five feet of line and was gone.   :smt011  Almost happened again with another that was skin hooked in my last pic.  All in all it was a good day, the early outgoing tide saved me today for sure.  The snag proof frog in black is becoming one of my favorite baits.....

Nice work out there on what sounds like a rough day.  I'm surprised you only took one on the froggie, the wind makes a big difference on the topwater bite.

See ya out there next time.

Nice work on the photos.  That plastic looks like it'd get a lingcod to bite with no problem.   :smt001

I just started using jigs this year after reading all the good reports and hoopla about them.  I gained confidence in them during the late winter and early spring when nothing else was working for me.  Try one out when the water is up FisHunter.  Either high tide or sometime during the outgoing.  Drop it in the little pockets and V's created by the tules.  Half ounce black and red or black and blue are staples on the delta.  I can't figure out how to jig them up during low water conditions so I usually switch to some other tactic.
