Not much to report. At around 11 AM, paddled out about half a mile and drifted east. Quite a few PB out there. I saw one guy gaff a halibut. Lots of small stuff stealing my bait. I had one serious hookup, with the fish diving and stripping line off the drag like crazy. Felt like a very large halibut. Encouraging, even though it got away.

There were at least three bait balls out there, each with birds working it.

Ran into Casey7, who was catching rockfish out there.

At 1 PM, the wind kicked up with a vengeance, so I headed in. Great workout.

Glad you got out on the water, Bill.  The strong take-down is worth some good go-to-bed thoughts for a few weeks or even months - or until the next one.   :smt001

Thanks Eric.  It's always fun out there when you go in a kayak. It would be a real drag to pay a fortune for gas on a PB and just get skunked and seasick. At least on a kayak there is a good workout and I don't get seasick!

Now, if I can just get some Shelter Cove-like action down here sometime ... :smt004
