Hey everyone,

It has been a while since I sent out an update. Since then, several things have happened up at the property. We had a very successful 4H gathering for a work weekend. They accomplished a heck of a lot in one weekend and had fun doing it. I am putting together a photo report. I hope to have it finished soon.

The other major event was the Corral fire. It knocked on our doorstep. Only one little nearly dry reservoir stopped it from jumping property lines. If that had happened, we would have lost the camp. I raced up there and Paul, Christopher and I pulled everything we could out of the camp and put it in the work truck and trailer and then parked them out in a meadow.

The other unsettling event is that our gate is repeatedly being breached. People are getting through the gate by various means.

These two factors made me realize that I need to do two things. One is to try to protect the camp equipment and furnishing from both fire and theft. The other is to make the gate more secure.

This afternoon, I ordered a 20' shipping container. It is supposed to be delivered this Sunday. I am having the vendor weld a lock box over the locking mechanism. It wont be Fort Knox but it will keep the fairly honest people honest.

As for the gate, I have a design in mind that will eliminate people driving around the gate and that will make the gate locking mechanism more secure.

So, once again, I am looking for volunteers. It would be great if we could get both projects done in the same weekend but I know this is short notice. So, please look at your calendars and see if you can spare a weekend any time soon. I will be up there this weekend to get the container in place and move everything from the meadow into the container. I have to work the following weekend. I would like to start working on the gate soon after that if not this weekend.

Let me know if you can help out. As always, thanks!
