I need to get a hitch installed on a Subaru outback.  It doesn't require any drilling so I was considering taking a shot at it, but I don't wanna F it up.   :smt044  :smt044

Any of you south bay guys know of a shop that can do a good hitch installation?  Looked up a couple places on yelp, but some of the horror stories/reviews from the 2 places I found kept me away.  Not to mention they were quoting me $400 just for installation.

Any suggestions are appreciated!  Thanks.

Dude just right on time.
I helped a friend install a new hitch on his Subaru, not the outback.
It just took time since instruction is pretty clear.

What hitch model do you get?

its pretty easy. I did it myself. The most difficult part is keeping it suspended in the air while you're trying to get the bolts on.  I used a jack for that.

I installed CURT 13206 Class 3 Trailer Hitch on my 2019 and 2013 Outback which required drilling holes.  The most difficult part of the installation was drilling holes while laying down on the ground.    I used plastic ramps to lift my vehicle off the ground and took me a couple of hours for installation. If you had access to a lift, it would take less than an hour for the installation.

I went with this one because it was one of the few that didn't require drilling new holes.  How long did it take you guys to install?

Actually, It was a similar one, need to remove bumper. It took around 2.5 hours.
The hard part was removing plastic without scratch.

doesn't look too bad of a install. Taking the bumper off is the majority of the work. Just have agoodhi bring a keg of beer over and take your time taking it apart :) I'll come drink beer and supervised lol

Since it was the second time installing it, took me 2 hours.  Your hitch is twice more than one I installed.
If you need Subaru Outback service manual for instruction on how to remove parts, please PM me.

I installed a very similar hitch on my RAV4 in well under an hour. Installing the wiring harness took another 2 hours.

It’s very easy.

My 08 was a snap but it just requires you drop the back of the exhaust to bolt up to the frame, just take your time with the bumper and take lots of pictures or video so you know how to put it back together the next day with a hangover from the keg.

If you're afraid or lazy to do it yourself.....

+1 for Eyers.
