I bought a trident.  It doesnt paddle as well as my tarpon 160i, not quite as easy, doesnt track as well or mold to your legs as well.  BUT we are talking about a small difference.  So why is the tarpon on the roof of my garage as the trident is on the racks of my truck going fishin?

Relative to the tarpon, this sucker is a rock.  Look at my avatar. Not me, but I could have given him a run for his rice bowl.  Im dry.  Unless youre a pro offensive lineman, youll be dry.  Even they might be dry.  I dont feel the need to throw my legs over the side with every boat wake.  I even sit side saddle comfortably.

I can put my big rolleze wheels in the front, stuff a dry bag in the rod pod and still put 4 rods in the rod pod, aiming them towards the stern. I thought the rod pod would make the cockpit feel cramped but I have not really noticed it OTW.  knowing my rods are safe in the hull, I am far more willing to try sketchy surf launches, so far so good.

OK so what do I not like?  The rod pod doesnt seem to form a tight seal, especially at the top near the sonar shield.  I will be adding a strap there.  Also hard to find a convenient place to put a forward rod holder.  there is a great flat deck area around the sonar shield but its a stretch to get to.

so if I was going to go out for a paddle only, the tarpon would get the nod.  But to fish, the trident hands down.  Only added some flush mount rod holders so far, been fishing it first to see what else I want.  Sonar is in the mail, Ill update when I put it in.

Congrats on the new boat E.  Thanks for the review, I've been thinking about a Trident and appreciate your comments.

Once you add that strap to hold down the front of the rod pod, it'll seal fine. There's just enough room between it and the sonar shield (silly names).

I'm with you - the WS160 is a much sweeter paddler, but the OK T15 is a terrific all-around fishing system.

SooooOOOOOooo agree.  Not a 160 to paddle but a real joy to fish out of and a very well thought out boat...loving it.
