Fat clumps of bait, birds and whale's near shore. Had considered bringing the cast net, probably could have stocked up on anchovies but would have needed the wet suit and booties as well.

Waters hella cold!

I didn't see the birds yesterday, but thought I caught a whale spout in close and not far off the jetty when I went out yesterday. Wasn't sure so I stuck with my original plan for fishing locations -- i was getting too late of a start to explore.

Not that im aware. Even the boat at the docks only sellls live anchovies. He says no macs yet.

Any mackerel around?

There are some macks in the anchovy balls in front of the SC harbor. They are feeding on the pin head anchovies. You can get them as by catch when jigging up chovies. They have good size to them too.
