Supreme Court says Americans have right to guns

A simple question for all you gunslingers.. what exactly will this ruling do?

Not much if you're not into firearms.  A few laws banning some types of guns may be overturned, and such laws will be less likely in the future.  It probably won't have much of an effect on crime either way since legal firearm availability isn't very strongly correlated to crime rates.

As I see it, the important part of this decision is that it affirms the right to bear arms as an individual right, rather than as a collective right as many have argued. 

This is something that had never been ruled on with this level of clarity by the Supreme Court in the past.
