Aloha

Anyone has any idea how to removed a transducer that I placed inside my scupper pro using marine coop.  Do I need to use a blow dryer to melt the marine coop so I can remove the transducer or is the heat going to damage the transducer. Any help will be appreciated.  I will be relocating the transducer right in front of the seat inside the hull.  I cut out a 6" hatch right there and it's a pretty good place for storage and to put the transducer. You should be able to pry off the transducer with a screwdriver or putty knife.  After that you can yank the residual goop off the transducer using your fingers or a pair of pliers.  I've done it several times.. it's pretty easy.  Good luck.

I picked up a Heat Gun from the local " Michaels " or any other craft store.  Heated up the sides and pried it off just as Brian said.  Seem to work well..

Are you going to Goop again, or go " Pool Noodle " ?

I hear ya, it's fast, easy,

Just what I have experienced is, it will need to be replaced in the future due to bubbles forming under it and giving screwed up readings. I'm still trying to get the pool noodle thing right,

Can"t find the Larger Noodle yet :smt013

at the moment, I have created a small area for the transducer out of a cup holder and am using a small dab of Vaseline,

works great, but a little messy.

Danglin, I got the marine goop out. It was very simple using the pudding knife just how you explain it. Thanks again for the advise. When I got it out, I looked underneath the transducer and there were some spots where the marine goop did not cover. Now I knwo when I put it back on, I will put the marine goop on the bottom of the transducer before set it in.

Danglin, just fyi a regular small pool noodle worked for my tranducer, but it took a couple tries.  I am using silicone and it works great.

But if you want a large pool noodle, I'll bring you a chunk.
