ps the neighbors think I'm an idiot.  they just don't get it

My neighbors also think I'm an idiot, my friends on the other hand know that I come up with some pretty cool stuff sometimes, trial and error (then success) is the fulfilling part., you wouldn't want it to work right the first time would you?

Go for it, fool those neighbors,,,,,,

I'm surprised that Hobie doesn't make wheels that replace the flappers so you can peddle to your launch they have every other accessory :smt003
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

You have a lot of good ideas now to make a safe trailer. That original rope setup looks like something you would see on the Little Rascals!

Mike, I had the same idea. That would be funny.  You could get the sail and tack your way down the street to the boat launch.  If gas prices keep going up we might have to do this.

Solution to the braking is a mountain bike with disc brakes and yourself weighing 200+! Just like any type of towing, the heavier the two vehicle the better control you have over the trailer.

My one problem is my mountain bike is full suspension. You really need a hardtail for this type of towing.

Discs and a hardtail and 29ers!  that's what i'm building up to tow my daughter around-- maybe i can just modify the rig for the yak (only 5 miles to my local launches)
