Caught a small brown RF .25 mile south of yellow can. Not much going on. Dinner anyway. Got a ling that was   a 1/4 inch short of legal in the kelp(see ya in two weeks  I hope). Maybe got a halibut hit over by the buoy at black's point.

Hi Casey:

It's been slow going at Santa Cruz. Last week-end I did the W. Harbor to Cap. and did'nt even get a bite. Lots of Skiffs from the Pier working the Kelp beds. One Pwr. Boater was making the rounds visting everyone to check out their catch creating, too much wake in the kelp Beds.
The wind chop was like a washing machine and the Kelp is thick. the West Harbor to Cap. trip was still fun punching thru the White Caps.
Hopefully things will turn around this coming week-end

I've been hearing about them but didn't see any when I went out yesterday for a couple of hours. I was in the kelp beds near Black's Point. Just mackerel and small stuff around there. The bigger fish seem to have moved into deeper water, probably chasing the baitfish I didn't see.

I was on the beach in RDM yesterday (end of Beach St.) and I saw a pod of dolphin working the outside edge of the break.  They hung about for quite a while, presumably after bait.

If I can get to NBSB this week I'll post a bait report.
