This morning I made a solo run at some topwater popper action for bass.  The tides were good, but the bite was a little slower than expected.  My first fish was a solid 2 pound 12 ouncer (pic 1).  The second one was my biggest topwater bass yet at 5 pounds 10 ounces (pic 2).  I worked hard for two more topwater fish, then it was to deeper water with the senkos.  I ended the morning with 8 bass.

In the evening, Jay (jaybug) met up with me to try his fly for some delta lunkers.  I managed to get 4 bass in the boat on the popper, plus a nice fat bluegill (pic 3).  The biggest was just shy of 2 pounds.  Jay kept throwing his fly and couldn't get a bite.  Then finally he got tagged by a nice bass--nearly 6 pounds (pic 4)!  On a fly rod, I am impressed Jay.  Nice work.

Although a slow, windy evening, it was an enjoyable trip.
