I was going to go catch some kingfish and halibut. Kingfish for bait for the weekend and flatties for BBQ.

I launched out of SC on monday.  Red tide was out to the lighthouse.  I was fishing for halibut with fresh squid between 35 and 50 feet between the mile buoy, lighthouse and the harbour...no action.  No swell but the afternoon wind was blowing pretty hard (a sail boat broke their boom due to the wind).  Not sure if the red tide slowed the bite down.  I did catch a few small white/silver fish with a small sucker type mouth...not sure what they were.  Hope it's better for you, Brian!  Let me know how you do.

I'm thinking of taking a trip down there on Tues-- maybe even as far as stillwater for some rockfish (first trip for me of season).
Of course, if salmon bust open then all bets are off!
