For the Do It Your Selfers and for less than $475.00.......+/- $400.

Thanks to all that made this possible, because I didn't think of it. Just put a new How-To on our site.

Let me know if I can answer any questions you may have.

The coolest thing about this tank was an after thought and that was the 2 levels that you can run the tank at. One for bait, a lower level for less weight and one that holdes more water for a livewell.  8)

I have to go see if one of those tanks will hold up to a 5-6lb. bass safely. I have been doing the 3gallon bucket in a pump dragger for bait, but its way too small for a nice bass. Off to Petco...thanks

Just checked online store, there are 2 sizes and on sale.

Mark I noticed you recommend a 6 volt 12 amp battery for the bait tank how does it work with a 12 volt bilge pump. I am assuming it runs slower but longer would this be correct.

The 6 volt works great. And yes it does run alot longer and slower. I had 2 bass around 13" long in the tank for about 4 hours. The fish were so hot I had to put a glove on and lower the water level to get them out. It was too funny.

Pat ,I made a full on livewell 12v with a automatic adjustable timer, scupper pump, etc. it worked good but the pump noise drove me crazy.(maybe spooked fish too)

So I made another livewell in a pump dragger style with a 6volt battery and a switch. It runs virtually silent and keeps a load of shad (very delicate) alive all day. Should be fine for chovies too, which also croak easy.

As I understand a 360 rule pump is 360gph on 12volts and around 1/2 that on 6volts=180gph. Thats a water change every minute on a 3gal bucket, which is plenty. The through scupper setup was going 500gph every 3-5 minutes. I put foam around the pump and it got quieter but switching to 6volts makes it purr.
