So I spent the day looking for the leaks in Dave's marauder, this kayak would on choppy days take on about 2 to 3 gallons
of water so I was looking all over the haul for a leak but could not find any

Then I took a close look at the flush mounts on the front of the kayak and notice big gaps between the rod holders
and the kayak haul because the guy who installed them did a crappy job on the install he cut the holes way to big "WTF"  :smt013
so I drilled all the flush mounts out and remounted them with gaskets and guess what no leaks  :smt007

So if you have a marauder I would check the flush mounts and everything Else for leaks :smt010

PS this guy tried to make up a 1/8 in gap with lexel nice going dude  :smt012

Duane I did the same thing to my Maurauder. I also did the rectangle hatch because it sucked in water when the hull flexed.

I had "frog butted" the hatch covers and was still getting water inside.

Been there done that.  Sloppy flush mount installation seems to be a theme with them.  I also applied silicone to every single rivet since about half of them leaked too.

On a side note, my first Maruauder had a warped frame on the center hatch that could not get a good seal no matter what you did... remounting the frame was not an option... wouldn't have helped.  Every time I took water over the bow, water would leak into my hull from the front of that hatch.

Cobra covered it under warranty (with a nudge from Sean) and sent me a new yak (which happened to be the redesigned gen 2 hull).

Here you go... this is a definite must do on any marauder... the santoprene seals are still performing strong almost two years later.
