Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

I hear you Mark! I'm getting tired of flying my kite.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

My wife and I were camping at Doran Park this weekend.  I shouldn't have bothered taking a yak.  The waves were about 1 foot high (no surfing), and the wind was screaming (no fishing).  Even the kite surfer guys were having a hard time of it.  But, once they got going, they were really moving out.  You should have seen the look my wife shot me when I said we could sell her yak and buy a kite board.  She was not amused!!

I had pretty good success in the wind the other day after work.  I tied off to the lee side of kelp with my long bunchie cord kelp tether, then casted in downwind directions with a smaller spinning setup and a light jig.  Once I felt I covered an area, I moved on to another kelp bed.  Got six assorted rockies and a ling this way....and I launched a 5 P.M.

There are too much seas now, but this technique works good when it's blowing and the seas aren't too bad.

Also, some good news:  The kelp is coming in really thick this year - at least around the mendo area.

But yeah, this blows.

this wind must be mother-nature's way of sustaining the rockfish population.

Or of punishing the SF Bay Halibut population!
