Finally got the boat back in the saltwater and managed to stick a few.  Arrived Friday to Big Lagoon County Park in 40mph winds with sideways rain and had a heluvatime setting up camp.  Weather turned nice, meaning the weekend was all about family hiking/exploring.  Fern Canyon was really nice.  Did a nice 8 mile paddle around Big Lagoon Sunday evening with the sun going down, good times!

Met up with fishinmike at the harbor in Trinidad Monday morning, and with the weather/swells in our favor we decided to paddle around the head and fish up north.  Didn't make it far when we started graphing fish, with a few short lings released and a few blacks in the bag.  The charter/private guys were bunched up on a reef a half mile out or so, so we decided to head their direction.  A quick stop on a promising rock turned up my legal ling (30"), as well as a few nicer blacks.  Breeze started to pick up a tad, so we called it a day and made the paddle in, fishing spots that looked good for a few more blacks.  All in all, great day on the water and nice to hookup with a fellow NCKA'er!  I'll try to make it back over around mid July for more fun, till then tight lines!  By the way, the fish tacos were delicious!!!!!!
