I broke out the Ocelot for the first time this year, and took Maggie and James out between 3:00 and 6:00 on Saturday. The weather was cloudy and a bit muggy, but the fish were quite cooperative. A minute after Maggie started complaining about having to use a jig/beaver combo instead of the Texas rigged worm she's more familiar with, she picked up a 14 incher or so. She then took over minding the kid and I picked up a nice fish in the 18" range or so. We eventually moved to another spot, and she got fish on her next two casts, losing  or destroying the wacky rigged Senko each time. Dang that Gary Yamamoto. These fish were more like 16" or so, definitely heavier than her first, and getting near as big as my one fish for the day.  We were targeting weeds in the 5-6 foot depth range the whole time, letting us know that the fish have moved into their early summer habitat.

James got to touch a couple bass, and had a ball playing with the water that gathers on the floor of the cataraft. He passed out in his mom's arms as I was rowing back to the launch, and stayed asleep in the seat the whole time we un-rigged the boat. Yet again I mentioned my desire for a trailer to the co-chair. Yet again the idea was met with a distinct lack of enthusiasm. But I'll keep trying. I keep telling her that losing as much time as we do to rigging/un-rigging makes a trailer a good investment...

Lastly, yes I did take real live pictures, but they're stuck in the camera up in Auburn, so you'll all have to wait. But heck, they're just regular old bass. The wife and future angler are pretty cute though, but my opinion is less than objective in this matter.

Regards,
Scott
