Hello All

I've been reading the posts here in the forum for a few months.  This is a great escape site!

I have recently purchased a fishing kayak and have opportunity to fish Lake Sonoma, tomorrow morning, Sunday 5/18/08.

I fished it in March and April and did quite well on black bass in the back of coves.

Does anyone have any current info/conditions that they can put out to the forum?

I understand there are trout in the lake.  Is it too hot to try for trout?  What do they like to bite.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

I think that I have seen a few of you guys out on Lake Sonoma.  I look forward to meeting some of you soon.

This is from the local paper.

LAKE SONOMA "Try Brush Hogs, spinnerbaits, topwater, or Spooks for some bedding bass. The better pre-spawning fish will be in the 8-to 10-foot range by trees next to flats and other spawning areas in the creek arms, averaging 2-3 pounds. Trout trollers are finding near limits averaging 2-3 pounds. Anglers working the dam for trout are finding success under the bridge in 20 feet with small jointed black/silver Rapalas.

Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

Thanks for the offer but that place will be a Zoo.
Here is My report from last Monday I would guess that the smallies and trout are a little deeper and the LMB a little shallower. Let us know if you see any Schools of Shad.http://www.norcalkayakanglers.com/index.php/topic,12902.0.html
