Ben (152 Sumo) and I hit the delta for some bass action this weekend.  Ben got us off to a good start with a nice bass on a tube bait.  I got a couple blow-ups on the buzzbait, but none that stuck.  Ben picked up another on the worm.  He had a big fish take in a tiny crappie jig, and then break him off...darn-it!  I ended up with 9 fish, mostly on senkos.  Nothing big, most between 1-2 pounds.

Sunday the bite was slower.  I lost one buzzbait fish at the yak.  I picked up three fish on senkos, with one quality fish at 5 pounds 4 ounces.  On the way in to the marina, I had a nice fish take the senko.  She jumped and did an aerial-self-quick-release, which was really nice of her because I didn't want to bother to unhook her, weigh and measure her, photograph her, and all that crap anyway.  Curses!  She looked to be over 8 pounds.  Spat the senko right in my lap.  Darn-it!

I'll get her next week.

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.

I think she would have appreciated being immortalized on NCKA better than the quick release.  Her loss.

After the long paddle on Sat, and drinking beer after, I didn't have the energy to go back out Sun.  I don't feel so bad now.  Hopefully the bite will turn on next time we are out.
