So, bsteves and I hit Swain Island on the Willamette River yesterday searching for the ever elusive spring run Chinook Salmon.  We tried trolling for a couple hours but nobody has been catching  :smt010.  The fish are coming through but the water is cold and the fish seem to just be blasting there way up to the dams.  We switched over to sturgeon mid-morning.  We caught 7 shakers in a couple hours.  Check out the video.  Then we paddled back to the harbor and fished for crappie and smallmouth between the big boats, See pix.  The sturgeon was a lot of fun.  It's hard to be disappointed catching 35 in fish.

Cool video.  Sounds like a great hookup, and gotta love the multi-species attack - nice planning.   :smt001
