Can someone point out, with a google map pic where the campsite for BAM IV will be?  For those of you that made the past BAM's, how were the night skies?  Were you able to see many stars? (If you stepped away from campfires?)
Reason I'm asking is, I think the night night skies there (If it's not cloudy, will be very dark!) I'm planning  to combine my 2 favorite hobbies on that trip.  Fishing and Astronomy.
Fish during the days, and after chow, set up my LX200 10" SCT and fish the night sky's for interesting celestrial objects.  The Milky Way should be directly overhead and displaying it's beauty.  Sagittarius (located in the southern sky low on the horizon)has many deep sky objects that are just beautiful.  M22, M16, M17, Star clouds, Northern Cross, also known as Cygnus, (The swan) will be prominently displayed overhead, Deneb being the bright star at the "Tail" of the swan.
Too many things to see.

This only works if the night skies are dark, free from "City lights" or "light pollution"

How many of you planning to attend BAM IV would be interested in some Astronomy at camp?

This is the general vicinity of Angel's Camp at Lake Mendocino.

Thanks!  City lights are all over a mile away, 300' hills blocking the them, might be dark skies.  Plus now I have Lat & Long coordinates for my telescope. I can refine the location with my FF/GPS once there at camp.

Night skies can still be GREAT in Ukiah, you should have no issues.
