Launched around 9:00, fished til 2:00, using frozen anchovies. There were quite a few boats but they were mostly north of the hook and pretty far out. I was drifting and trolling, but got no halibut. I did get one bat ray, medium to large size. I thought it was a large halibut at first because it was wriggling and jerking, and rays usually pull smoothly, but it turned out that the hook was in the leading edge of the wing. Anyway, I was disappointed when I saw it was a ray, but it was better than nothing. He was towing my boat at 1.2 mph. The release was easy once he calmed down but I did get thoroughly splashed in the process.

Good report.

I was out there myself but only fishing off the rock wall & ballena (still grounded since my yak is back home).  I caught two keepers, 22" & 27" and my buddy got one 20".  All fish caught on fish traps.  Only kept the 22"er for the pan and the other two were released to get big, fat, reproduce, and ready to be caught another day.  Take care & good luck  :smt001.

Good luck and tight lines.

Yeah, we were fishing before the first bend off the wall.  Got a horrible sun burn though  :smt011.  DFG was out today checking folks on the wall, sure was nice to see them out in action.  A few hits today left me with one shredded swim bait.  Oh yeah, I caught a bucket.  wooohooo
Good luck and tight lines.
