well the weather was predicted to be so nice today that i took out my kayak instead of the big boat.  launched at berkeley about 6 am, got live anchovies and paddled out to the flats. unfortunately, my battery/pump for my bait bucket was not functional, but dave lent me the kind of bucket you drag around (which i still have dave). there were many anglers out today, both kayaks and powerboats.  i trooched my way over to brooks where i quickly caught 2 buts in 6ft of water.  they measured out at 29" and 26".  i enjoyed a leisurely paddle back to the marina, out of the water and packed up by 1;30.

Nice work Chris.  I've got to take the initial plunge and try the halibut thing from the yak.  Sounds like it's as hot as it gets but I could be wrong.  Any pics?

my camera broke, but a ncka guy mike (goutnomore?) took some with his phone.  hopefully he will post them.  as for yak but fishing,  it can be challenging, with the live bait and the long  distances to paddle, but if you were going to do it, today was the day.
if you go out tomorrow i would troll the arw.

Greetings,

Great weather.  Parking lot was packed.  My group got there a little late.  I overslept...  Picked up some live bait and headed out to the pier ruins to drift anchovies.  I didn't get any action off my own rod.  Shicken hooked up twice.  1st was a shaker butt.  2nd was a HUGE batray, easily over 50+ lbs.  We'll post pictures of it later.

Congrats on Kingfisher on the 2 butts, and a bait tank full of dead chovies, beer bottles, and misc items.

Here's the a picture of Kingfisher and his catch.

Right on... Chris.  You can't go wrong with live chovies.
