Fished Calero this morning with Ken Fishnfool and Compa,We caught some bass, but no really big ones. The wind was tolerable for a change, and the PB traffic very light! A great morning with great company--and then it happened, I caught a pair of sunglasses on a senko!!

So I missed the exitement!  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005 That's a first!

I had to leave early just when we found the fish.  :smt013  So I came back later for some more. I caught 5 for the day and missed a few more. Overall, it wasn't too bad for a post frontal day.

I may be out there again on Saturday to give it the "ole college try." I was out there last weekend dragging poor defenseless minnows and they got eaten quickly. I C&R'd ten bass to 4 pounds just working the 5 foot contour line. also got two large crappie who happened to show up on the fishfinder.

They were Oakleys. Very rare at Calero. I have seen a few at Anderson and the Delta, and once at New Melones, but never before at Calero.  :smt005 :smt005 :smt005

Great catch!  And nice fish.  Next time put the glasses on the fish, then take the picture for an even better story.

My dad was jigging for bass once at Naciamento and caught an 8 lb perfectly smooth and round rock/pebble.  The hook had apparently found the only blemish (a very small pinhole, 1/16th of an inch deep, into which the hook tip barely fit).  He thought he had a lunker as the rock took him down several times like a yo-yo.  No pics though, but I was there to watch it.  Funny what you can catch other than fish.

By the way, if anyone catches a rod and reel with a shallow running Yozuri (red/white) in the delta: IT'S MINE!!
