Arrived to black clouds and high winds. Started throwing some cranks and hooked up with a small striper. Drew a blank for the next hour and finally hooked up with a small largemouth. Paddled over to another productive spot and pulled three more largemouth and thats all I could catch. Rained off and on for my 4 hours on the water and the wind quit completely to glass when the tide turned which was pretty wierd. I have a video clip of fighting a fish, but camera in the lap didnt do justice. Need to build a mount someday soon.

Nice work Jeff.  The tail of that striper really stood out to me.  The thing looks like a fan - don't know that I've seen anything like it.

Your pictures sure make the trip seem much more productive than the report.  I was thinking, man what a down trip but the pictures say otherwise.  Good stuff.

You are right about the tail, I didnt notice it until you pointed it out. Wierd. I dont mind fishing in the rain. As long as its not windy. I lost one other largemout at the yak when it spit the hook at me, and lost another small striper as well. Pretty slow out there.

Great report, Jeffrm - love the video!  You're in full-on R&D mode and ready to bust out.  Love it, Man.   :smt001

Remember to "go Abking" on the fish if it's big!   :smt005

Nice work out there Jeff, its good to see them continue to hit the cranks.  Its only a matter of time before you nail another big striper too.  Have fun at New Hogan this weekend.

Jeff-

Way to brave the elements and get some fish. Diaper stripers are a good sign... I'm thinking if the small ones are around, the big ones shouldn't be far behind. But, I'm not a Delta pro... so who knows... the big ones could be anywhere. I can't wait to get back out on the Delta. That place just looks fishy all over.
