I don't think you want to be boostin' about getting a free ride back to shore!   :smt005

That must've been kinda cool!   :smt001

LOL...sheriff on deck was telling me how much sharks love camo wetsuits, I told him that must have been the reason it was on sale  :smt001

On the boat, I was getting ready to slip in when they pulled up on us so I stayed topside to show off my nicely tagged abs. I had already tossed my gun in the water on a floatline and by the time they were done with the inspection we had drifted about 60 yards.  They drove me back to the floatline so the boat we were on could keep a spotter on the other diver.  I scoped out the inside of that ribbie....its one serious machine!  Sonoma Co sherrifs have one kickass job.

That is one solid rig.

Nice job on the hi-tech Photoshop touch ups on the wetsuit, too!  :smt004

The Sonoma Sheriff's boat (The Mussel Point) is also the Bodega Marine Lab's boat and having done some research on it I can tell you that thing can haul A$$.  Twin jets, tops out around 30 kts or so and can turn on a dime at top speed (with a bit of skidding).  Think giant wave runner.

Anyway, I guess the marine lab wouldn't let the Sheriff mount a 50 cal gun on a turret in the front.  Otherwise, it would be even more impressive.

Brian

[correction:  I was just informed that I meant 50 cal (not 50 mm) and that the top speed is more like 30 kts.  I guess I got excited]

Thats 15 extra pounds and 14mm of premium neoprene...any club shots woulda bounced right back at em  :smt001

I think we anchored up in 26 feet, I looked over the gunwhale and could see abs on the rocks.  We dove for fish at another spot, could see bottom at 30'.  It was insane.

I've spent allot years on the Sonoma coast but I've never seen the Sherrif's dept doing F&G checks, is that typical and I just never had the honor or what?

BTW the twin Hondas on the Bodega bay F&G boat that I helped pay for give it a little get up and go as well.
