Hi everyone just wondering if anybody has any good info on were to fish in still water cove Pebble Beach or the surrounding area? Scoped it out today the water looked like glass. :smt007 After daydreaming of all the possibilities I was wondering if this was A good spot for rockfish? Seasons coming close and I would love to have A game plan. Thanks in advance for your info. Andy

the whole area is pretty good for kayakers who like to pothole the kelp.  the southside of the wash rock (and everyone knows where that is) pops up from 100 ft and its pretty fun.

keep in mind that this place sometimes gets A LOT of seals/sealions/ territorial marine mammals that like to snag fish, right off the end of your line.  theyre increasingly aggressive, so be on guard

Also, you can get into protected (read: restricted) waters pretty easily if you're not paying attention.

If you do a forum search on Stillwater Cove you'll find more than enough info there to answer your questions, BTW.

You can pull up a pretty good map of the protected areas (no fishing) on the DFG website. It shows the Pinnacles to be a state marine reserve. I wouldn't want to get a ticket for that one. Up toward cypress point is clear of the protection act areas. It is a bit of a paddle though. I'll be doing a launch from the cove when rockcod opens. Maybe do a post of it in a week or two as we get closer to May 1 see if there is a chance for a group trip.

You can count me in on that trip too. I was planning on going there sometime that weekend anyway.  If you all planning the actual day of the opener I may have to take a day off of work.
