Is that no salmon season at all or is that specific to the ocean salmon season?  What about salmon returning to non-Sacramento watershed rivers like the Smith and Klamath not to mention various OR rivers?

It is not real clear yet about river fish. Everything I read says Ocean season specifically.

I heard you might be able to catch coho in OR though, the closure is only for Chinook.

the article on sfgate was pretty specific about ocean fishing, but the projected numbers don't look promising for inland fishing either...

Rivers outside of the Sac system appear unaffected by this.

The Klamath/Trinity system is actually expecting a good year for big 4 year olds, and the limits will be higher than usual since they're not having to split fish quotas with the ocean fishermen. 

I'll probably go up there late this Summer to give it a go, but it's not the ocean...   :smt009
