Arrived at Franks Tract and was on the water by 7:00. Wind was already kicking up and gave me grief throughout the day. Threw crankbaits, senkos, and brush hogs. Hooked up on the senko early in the morning, but it came unbuttoned before I got a look at it. By 10:00 the wind started howling. I fished until 11:00, but no more takers.  :smt011

Can't seem to figure Frank's Tract out, but I wasn't seeing any of the dozens of bass boats hooking up either. This area of the delta doesn't seem as hot right now as the other areas Hobie Blue and others have been reporting on. Or, maybe it was just the wind?  :smt009

Nice try to stick out the wind...

I've noticed some presure changes on my Barometers @ Home, might be some of the problem.

Hard wind can cloudy the water, a little wind is good, make the fish more active. I've noticed the top

of the tide and the first out go is always the best.

Not to worry, fishing was real slow where I was at today too.  I caught my first fish at 6:40 in the morning second cast basically right off the ramp.  Nearly five pounds.  Fished the rest of the day, over eight hours and six miles of water for one super dinky bass.  I did see a power boater land one big fish and saw a few smaller ones boated too.  Keep trying.  The fish are there.  Just gotta figure their pattern.  Tough tide today, low all day.   :smt012

Hang in there. The wind was nasty this morning at lake sonoma but laid down around noon. The PB really has an advantage in the wind because the trolling motor allows them to hold position without anchoring.

Yeah, the trolling motor is a definite advantage. My wife was out paddling with me and I was trying to convince her that she should hold on the back of my boat and paddle to keep me in position, lol.  :smt061 :smt044

For some reason she didn't want to spend her day doing that for me. So much for teamwork!  :smt043  :smt046

Jay use an anchor to hold ya down to a spot. Slip it in real easy. The fish are there just fish it slow with large baits.

it will work!  take the winds direction in account before droppin...paddle up wind and drop the anchor down.
I use a 2lb'r and it holds well.

Delta+Wind=NO FUN!  good on you for trying!

I was thinking the same thing. I had been looking at attaching one to the yak. I've seen others on the net do it but wondering if anyone here has done that. I think I should post this question in a proper thread.

Yeah, it was just a bad tide all day until around 7PM when the tide was high that we did good. But don't worry, they're there.
