THE BEST OPENER IN MANY YEARS. Left San Jose at 4:00 am And got to salt point just as sun was coming up. The vis was around 20 feet or better. There was a very small swell and no wind. My dive body and i got our limits of abs and they where all over 9". Sorry no pictures this time camera got broke hunting. I got checked by the game warden and was all good. There was another diver that did not have his tags zip tied to his abs. She was ok with that just this one time and gave him a warning. He had His Tags stuffed in the hole in the shell. She also called his ab tag # and fishing license # in to the office on her radio. She said that he has received his only warning this year and that if he was in violation again there would not be any warnings They have his # on file now. It felt great to be back in the big salt. I did not see many fish but some small blue and perch.

Thank you Jim - I'm jealous, too!  :smt010

20 feet of vis at Salt Point is incredible, glad to hear about the nines. A little bit of slack on behalf of the warden was kind - above and beyond IMO. I'm really jones'n to get in the salt again.

I was up there too with JZumi and my buddy Gary.  We dove up at the North end of the park.  I shot 2 lings, 8 blacks and popped an ab that was 9.5 x 9.  It was one of the best days I have had up there in a long time.  I had my gun on the bottom in 35 ft of water and I could see the white handle.  Epic.  I'll try and post a pic after Gary emails them to me.
