Hooked up with PatR and his bro for some fishing at DV on Saturday. Pat is looking for a new ride and wanted to test drive the P15 and Trident so I brought both for him to test drive. Speed, light weight and sex appeal vs stability, comfort, dry ride and rod pod it's a tough choice. The fishing was slow with some large trout taken by PB guys trolling. Ran into Ken Fishinfool drifting PB in the south end. Had a good time figuring out my new downrigger. Have to report another skunk for myself with PatR hooking an under-striper. Thank goodness rockfish season is coming soon.  :smt003

Sounds like you have good options - ready for rough ocean or easy lake.   Those are good looking boats - but yum-yum yellow?!   :smt002

Thanks again Scott for letting me test your yaks for the day I did enjoy the comfort, dry ride and tracking of the Trident and my shoulders did not hurt as much, maybe because I was sitting up higher and my paddle swing was lower??? The rod pod is very convenient and I definitely like the idea of stowing your rods but it made the cockpit fill cluttered it's a sham it was not 2” narrower and 4” shorter. The weight was not that bad for a big kayak, all in all the boat felt vary well built I think I could get use to it. The P15 was definitely a faster but sexier not sure but the foot wells would come in handy when drifting with live minnows. I thought it would be easer to buy a new kayak after paddling for two years I think it got worse picky picky picky :smt013

Thank again for your hospitality

its a trip to see the water so high at DV.  makes the lake look truly vast.  Can't wait for some more settled weather and I'm gonna try and hit it.

thanks for the post and pics, GB2.

Nice to have met you Great Bass 2!
The trout were still around but more scattered and slower on the bite due to weather and perhaps some striper predation.
We switched up and caught a couple of other species a little latter in the day.
Lots of bugs and plankton in the south end, and a with few more degrees of warmth and it will be ON!
Any more talk of another camping trip at D.V. in the near future?

I hope so!!
