Abking, I finally had a moment to watch your "heartbreak" video.....now my stomach hurts.

It's a good hurt, Allen!   :smt002

Abking,

Great video, but what a sad ending...just when you had the upper hand. So close and you didn't even get a good look.

Didn't look like a large hali cuz your pole wasn't doing a dance. Just a real steady pull. must have been a California record ling- but we'll never know.

Nice water and weathere up there.

Abking, Holy Sh*T that $%&@! thing really #$%@^!& took some line. Really tho, I don't think your sailor tongue was any worse than any of the rest of the folks I fish with when we hook up a great fish. Although if you are going to video it with sound, maybe try not to @%$!&# talk like that  :smt044

Sorry you did not at least get a look if not boat that one.   :smt010

Couldn't help myself and watched the video again. Must have been a giant ling by the way it fought. Man it was so real I swearing at the fish too. Didn't matter if you brought it to the boat, 8 minutes of pulling on a big fish is better landing 8 little fish, IMO

Abking,

Awesome report, I felt my heart race a little while watching, just having that feeling of being out there hooking into a lunker.

I had a lunker like that @ the end of last season, it struck, cruised across the bottom about 20 yards & just sat there & wouldn't move. I couldn't move it now matter how softly or strongly i pulled I just waited it out & eventually had a 33" faatt ling.

Hopefully that's just foreshadowing of whats to come!!!!
