A short report. Fished 9.5 miles of the south fork on saturday. Long float made difficult because of the wind. Water is marginal color. No fish for the yak.
Next 2 days were in the drift boat, kayak stayed in the truck. Banged them, including a fresh hen and the longest, strongest, prettiest downstreamer I've had the pleasure to remove hooks from. All the fish came on plugs, including some I hooked casting and retrieving the plugs.
By monday the winds were completely gone, the water was clear and beautiful, and we had the entire run all to ourselves. Come to think of it, only saw one other boat the entire trip.
I'm gonna miss fishing this river, though I'm going back just to float it.
The dog is Hunter, and he got as excited as we did. He'd even go swimming in the hole after releasing a fish, looking for the fish.
If you don't know where you're headed, any road could get you there.

I was wondering about you Juan?.....looks like the weather co-op'd for a good ol' last huntdown on the Eel.
No yaked fish?  but sounds like you and Hunter made the best of the situation.
I'll jump in for the released fish too....and will come a'runnin when you call me!

Thanks for the report, Juan.  I was thinking of the river all weekend and yesterday too, but the weekend's winds were BRUTAL and COLD with a capital everything!  Way to go closing out the season right.
