Trolled from the Berkeley marina ramp to the end of the pier ruins, then halfway to Treasure Island and back.  On the water at the crack of 9:30am, and off by 2:00pm.  At 1pm the bay was still glass... by 2pm, it was sheep city.

I was trolling frozen anchovies on an FBR, and using a 2 oz. P-line Pulse Raiser dropper for a weight.  The dropper collected a lot of salad initially, but once I got beyond the end of the public part of the pier there were no more weeds (and I checked both the bait and the jig frequently).

I had one bite, I think... about mid-morning I'm looking to the left, and out of the corner of my right eye the rod goes big-bendo for about 1 second, then nuthin... the 'chovie looked fine so maybe something struck at the dropper, or it was a snag.

There was only a bit of radio chatter about fish for the PB'ers... sounds like a total of 3-4 distinct butts were boated by noon on sunday, all from around Treasure Island.

Maybe next week!

Right on, Backcountry - way to give it a go.  Start snapping some pics and you'll probably catch more fish!   :smt003

Being an honorable sportsman is way more important than what you catch.
