X-squid (Kevin) hooked up with me to try the Delta bass scene.  It was slow and go for the first 2+ hours.  The tail end of a storm kicked up some wind for a while so Kevin suggested that we duck into a cove to get some break from the wind...good idea!  About 5 minutes later--dink, BAM, fish on!  Another big one.  This one spun me in circles as I had to unhook my Hobie paddle to do a quick reverse out of the cover.  Fish nearly took my pole under the boat.  Massive head shakes and serious rod bend.  A couple swings with the net and its in the boat.  A 9 pound 7 ounce bass.  My third 9+ pounder this week, hat-trick!

Half an hour later, Kevin scores a nice big bass on a jig.  I managed to pull three fish off of one point in about five minutes, a 2, 3 lb 13 oz, and a 5 lb 11 oz fish (hat-trick).  Things slowed down a bit for a while.  Kevin missed a few bites.  Later in the afternoon, I hook a nice fish on the swimbait (I wasn't trolling, I was dragging...).  This one went 7 pounds 12 ounces.  Nice belly on this fish.  Being gentle and after a few pictures, back she goes.

Kevin kept trying, and after missing a few, he nailed another nice bass.  Kevin and I ended the day well with a couple more fish on the low tide.

On a side note, here is a shot of a "house boat" that people were living on just 14 days ago.  I think they had to find other housing arrangements.

Have a great weekend, and happy fishing.

Bryan

Thanks for showing me the inside scoop on your spot Bryan, good times.  Brian has this place dialed in, he boated 14 or so to my 4!  Good thing there were no wagers involved today.  The wind picked up for a bit, but it wound up being a nice day out there.  Here are a few pics, mostly of the beast of a nine pounder (+) that Bryan hauled in.  Your my boy Blue!!!!!

Pic 1:  a gnarly pole brought up from the depths (1st catch of the day)
Pics2-4:  the 9 pounder

Another great report. You've got this place figured out.  Good job.
I have next week off. Might cruise down and give this area a try.

Thanks for the fun day on the water Kevin.  Your day will come soon.  Pick your spots and work it slow, the fish are there.

The coolest thing was watching that otter swim out of the water with a five inch bluegill for supper.  Next time maybe we'll see a beaver swimming around too!  The pictures (especially that action shot) look great.  If anyone wants that pole, I can show you its location, lol.

Tomorrow is my last day of my Bass Fisherman's Dream Vacation, then its back to work on Monday to earn more fishing money.  I have truly enjoyed this week: my six biggest bass ever.

Danglin--don't worry, there are many bigger monsters out there who need to be introduced to Mr. Hobieblue,  :smt002

See you all out on the water.

Bryan
