So after a year hiatus from my kayak i've finally made some time in my schedule to get back out there.  The plan right now is to hit up  Lake Berryessa since it's so close to me and a friend of mine (I live in Fairfield).  My question is where is my best bet this time of year, I'd like to see how t ' he bass bite is but not all that thrilled about getting tossed around by the PB's.  Like I said, it's been over a year so I'm a bit rusty when it comes to keeping an eye on my calendar for what's biting, so any help is great as always.

Although the bass fishing is good spring and summer, the PB's can be pretty bad, IMO. I try make it there once in the fall when the lake turns over.

I've camped and fished at Paradise Valley/Cove campground before, but it's been a few years.  It's the first campground on the east end of the lake.  It has a general store and launch ramp.  At the time I camped their I used my canoe and slipped it over the bank by my campsite next to the water.  We filled out on trout fishing in the small bay by the marina.  Sure didn't have to go too far, it was about mid-May and the trout were in the top 10ft or so.  Overall, I liked the place, but I never went too far out into the lake.
