Off work at 0700 and headed for China Camp. Got two blocks from the house and realized I forgot the fishing rods. Armed with a couple hours of sleep, a cup of coffee and my fishing rods I’m on the water at 0930. After about an hour I get the right kind of tap and for some reason I give it a half a%& hook set and feel nothing. I take up the slack and suddenly realize my line is coming straight at me like a fright train. I reel like crazy to catch up and by now my line is going under the yak and headed in the direction of the anchor. I catch up and feel solid weight and then the sickening feeling of nothing. Sturgeon….and did I botch that one. Fished for a few more hours and C&Red three nice, fat Perch. One of which had a cool looking bite mark on both sides of its body. At about 1400 I realized I had forgotten something else, my fishing LICENSE!!! Tail between my legs I packed it in. Used host Shrimp, the LORD was out of grass. Going to do it again tomorrow, this time with my license.

Matt

If ever... that will be a very expensive outing. I remember my uncle got busted for fishing without a license. He showed up in court with his valid fishing license but was still fined $280.

I have never heard of anybody getting out of that citation. Thats why the second I realized I did not have my license in my possession I packed it up and left. BTW I did not SEE a single other fishing boat out there today. literally had the area to myself.

Thanks for the PICS&port Capt. having all to yourself, hooking things that tapped and then a botched-set?
that would have left me with an OTWSUMC(on-the-water-sickened-unstable-mental-condition) also refered to some as MADNESS!!
...too bad on havin to tuck-tail&bail (I'Dbeen :smt116 DUMB&stayed) the WI$E move for sure!  :evil5:
