Yakfish Canada in cooperation with WFN (World Fishing Network), on August 16,  is kicking off its tournament series with the first "Great Canadian Yakfish Tournament & Exhibition". The event is being held on Toronto Island and is being designed to cater not only to existing kayak anglers, but to newcomers to the sport.

There are many details to be worked out over the upcoming weeks and months, but the event will kick off with a dinner and presentation on Friday night on the mainland,  and end Saturday evening with an awards barbecue on the island. A day of golf is being considered as an additional option for the Sunday following the tournament, depending on interest.

If you have never been to Toronto, it's a great city to visit with or without your family, with many things to see and do.

For anyone travelling great distances, SOT's can be made available, if booked with preregistration.

Currently we are working on various optins for discount accommodations for out-of- town fishermen.

I know it is a way to come for most of you, but if any of our American friends are considering visiting Toronto this summer, keep the date in mind. It would be great to have you join us.

Full details regarding this event will be posted on our web site soon.
