i met up with steveS at paradise cay this am. there were trails of herring eggs on all of the rocks, a good sign!  the wind was picking up early, a bad sign!  2 sturgeon were reportedly caught by the shorefishers, keepers or not i do not know.  i tried inclose to the rocks for 1.5 hrs, no luck.  steve and i moved out into the current. we watched a boater land a shaker, then steve broke off on the hookset.  the wind became fierce, we packed up and called it a day.

ps. oh yeah, i changed my screen name to "kingfisher"

There were two landed from shore in the time i paddled out, and waited for cp...er...kingfisher.  I'm still kicking myself for not checking my line after landing a keeper leopard friday- i'm sure there was a fray in the line....

Steve - Is there a way to launch at Paradise Cay? The last time I was there it didn't look good for launching inside the harbor. I'm thinking halibut later in the year. Tom

Too bad you guys didn't land one.  Even with the wind, it was worth the try knowing they were there.

Been there..... Lost one on the hookset too by Rat Rock.  My main line nick was about 20 yards up the line where I wouldn't normally check.

ps. oh yeah, i changed my screen name to "kingfisher"
Hey Chris... I absolutely LOVE the name change.  If I had a real cool middle name like "Kingfisher", I would have used that as my screen name too.  Good move... Chris Kingfisher Patterson!!!

Yah sure, we just launched from teh rocks on the N side of the cay.  Though i do think that there is a public dock that you can carry down to and launch from. The ramp is gone- buried it looks like. Launching from the rocks was a snap.
