Made it out to Del Valle Sunday - haven't gotten a kayak yet but working on it.
Rented an aluminum outboard bucket & the target was stripers (couldn't resist after the report from Pat R's birthday). Unfortunately, the fish weren't with the program & the only striper I saw was in a photo with the guy who caught a 21(?) pounder on a garlic mallow or something... :smt012

All was not lost, however. I pulled into a cove & threw out a minnow to get some exercise while I ate lunch. I ended up getting a welcome interruption to my lunch & as a bit of a surprise, this little guy came up!  :smt001

Oh, one more thing:  You'll be relieved to know there were no reports of either pooching or boosting that day.  :smt002

I was there (orange Tarpon 120).  I got skunked as usual.  I saw the guy with the 21 lb striper.    It was freaking huge!  I asked him what he caught it on.  He mumbled something about nightcrawler with homemade blah blah blah.

The wind was out of control.  It was blowing from all directions, completely messing up any chance I had to stay on good spots.

I should have brought minnows, maybe I would have had a chance.  I was trying for LMB, which always seems to be next to impossible this time of year at Del Valle, at least with artificials.

Good luck getting the kayak.  You won't regret it.
