plain WEIRD!   kinda like those *Lightning / *Thunder trout....

I was thinking the same thing.  They put those Thunder mutants in Shadow Cliffs.  The pictures I have seen of them look like orange footballs, with the tail fin rounded out.

I have had the experience of catching these at Shadow Cliffs under the name of ,"Thunder Trout" and they do fight very well however, their taste leaves alot to be desired. So I don't actively go after them anymore. They love the chrome Kastmater and  Wht/Blk Roostertails the best.

Darn. I was hoping they had a pleasant built-in citrus-like flavor.  :smt003

BSteves/Fish Nerd: Are these just natural mutants that people have raised and encouraged?

It all sounds pretty fishy to me...

Great pics. Thanks for sharing. I sure would love to catch one but that seems pretty unlikely. They would stick out like a soar thumb to predators in the wild.

That's a Non-Native-Species....by gawd....

PS.....I liked that comment:
"If you look in their eyes you'll turn to stone."

I believe that.

Yes...That and your waders'ud begin to leak, 'n the next 7 fish you caught would break off; your boat would get stolen, your wife would leave you and your plastic worms'd melt all over your spoons, the warden would cite you for barbed hooks 'n it'd begin to snow.

Good start to a country song
Group IQ is inversely proportional to the size of the group.

A Steelhead always knows where he is going, but a Man seldom does.

Fun fish to look at even fun fish to catch however me thinks they are more decor for a pound than anything else. Besides the Catholic Pope just made genetic change a "Sin"  :smt044 or was it research religion confuses the hell out of me. But like anyother opnion everyone has one and like butts they usually stink. Mine included. :smt003
Great conversation piece so my next catch of the thunder trout I'm building a pond for my catholic family to see the beauty of Genitic change or maybe that wouldn't be to koi.  :smt006
