I havnt done any homework yet, so I have no details. Im sure the info is out there.
looks like they may have stuck with a tupperware system and added a few hobie like features (hopefuuly they will drain).
here is the 160.  Word is that they are released 10/1.

I was talking to the WS rep up in BC this weekend.  New seat whose back slides down into the kayak when not in use.  New rails system that you can see in the cockpit and in the rear tankwell.  New hatch system.  New support system under your thighs, I think he said something about being adjustable, but don't hold me to that.

Looks like they changed the hatch covers. It would be nice to have something that is more secure. I wonder what those things are on either side of the day hatch?

Some more specifics:
The Tarpon 160 is the ultimate destination kayak. The newly re-designed Tarpon 160 is taking the lead in redefining the Tarpon series, boasting the most enhancements of the line. The Tarpon 160 has been re-designed with more capacity and even greater speed and acceleration. While it features all the traditional rigging to bring in and haul away "the big one", the 160 now includes the new Slide Trax accessory system for virtually limitless add-ons. Easy storage access, legendary Phase 3 comfort, new locking hatch covers, and a re-engineered scupper tube design ensure all that extra gear you'll be taking stays dry. ***Estimated availability October 1st***

I got to see a prototype up close and personal at Outdoor Retailer. The changes are extensive.

Say goodbye to the 'i'; in a sense, the 09 Tarpon 160 it is a new boat.

The change you can't see in the illustration is the added volume and rocker. Capacity should rise and the ride should be drier.

The new bow oval is rigid and hinged from the side. I like it better than the rubber covers. Too bad they didn't make it larger.

The cockpit hatch is angled aft. Word from WS reps is it will take fishing rods. I didn't get a demonstration.

The aft hatch is gone, with the tankwell moved right up to the seatback. The well is enormous.

Accessory tracks are front and aft, designed to accommodate rod holders, a movable console, and electronics mounts.

There's another invisible upgrade, a new system for designing scuppers. WS says no more top / bottom mismatches - no more leaks (a common problem for rotomolding manufacturers, not just WS).

The Phase 3 seat has numerous adjustment points. It's the most complex I've ever seen on a fishing SOT.

I was very favorably impressed. Can't wait to take one for a spin.

Looks great. My only complaints about my T160i are the rubber hatch covers and the hard seat. Looks like they took care of both. I have a phase 3 seat in my WS Tempest 170 SIK. Very comfortable.
