I saw posted on coastside that on Oct 2nd and 3rd the Fish and Game Commission will be having public hearings and input as to the deciding factors on the MLPA in our region ( sonoma co.) If this is true we all need to show up to voice our opinion about support of 2XA for salt point and sealion cove. The blue ribbon task force wants to give us less coastal access that ever. Please write also to the Fand G commission with your letters of support for 2XA.The meetings will ne at the Flamingo in Sante Rosa.

Craig,

I saw your post on coastside about having divers show up in force, I have been to 6 NCC MLPA meetings, made public comment at 4 and unfortunately divers have not been to any of the meetings to date in any kind of effective numbers (there have been a few).

Hopefully with this "last chance" coming up they will show.

At the MLPA meetings in the past, they used gun toten F&G Wardens as security, (really, no bull).  Bigeyedave and Fishhunter attracted their attention with their "Bull" and "Shit" signs held up at the appropriate times, the evil eye from the head Warden put a stop to that.  Guitarzan also had an interesting time as he positioned himself with his 2XA sign behind one of the speakers, looked really good on the Webcast and archived video of the meeting.

Sean (Scwafish) and Bill Bernard gave their all in trying to protect access for divers and actually did pretty well,

Losing the north end of Salt Point will be a heartbreaker,

And it ain't over yet, the State Parks dept wants more of Salt Point in a reserve than what's in the current preferred alternative and you can bet that there has been some heavy lobbying behind the scenes by all concerned parties.

Hopefully 2XA will supporters will be heard.
